Brevo vs MailerLite (2026): Priced by How Often You Send

Brevo bills by emails sent, MailerLite by list size. Both priced at 1,000 to 25,000 contacts, sending weekly and twice weekly, as of 29 October 2026.

Some links here are referral links, and where a provider gives our readers a better price than its own site, that is the price you get by using one. It costs you nothing extra, and every option here is judged on the same test either way.

Brevo vs MailerLite (2026): Priced by How Often You Send

Brevo and MailerLite both start free and both run automations on cheap plans, so the feature lists look alike at first. The price lists are what split them, because they don't charge for the same thing. Brevo charges for the emails you send in a month, and MailerLite charges for the subscribers on your list.

That makes the answer your list size multiplied by how often you write to it. A monthly newsletter to 10,000 people is 10,000 emails and a weekly one is about 43,000, which Brevo bills as two different steps, $69 and $97 on its Standard plan, while MailerLite's Comfort plan charges $89 for either.

Beyond price, they're after different jobs. Brevo wants to be the one account behind every message you send, from transactional email and SMS to WhatsApp on its top plan, with a sales CRM beside your campaigns. MailerLite is more about giving the newsletter itself a home, with a website, landing pages, paid subscriptions and digital products around the emails.

I've priced both plans with automation at 1,000, 2,500, 10,000 and 25,000 contacts, sending weekly and twice a week, and then gone through what each plan includes. If you're still torn by the end, three questions near the bottom pick one for you.

  • Four list sizes, two sending rhythms
  • Each plan matched to the job in the row
  • Every price billed monthly, in US dollars

What each costs at 1,000 to 25,000 contacts

On a weekly newsletter MailerLite costs the same or less up to 10,000 contacts and Brevo costs less past that, and twice a week MailerLite costs less at every size I priced. The reason is that Brevo's price list has two dials and MailerLite's has one.

Brevo sells steps of emails a month, starting at 5,000, and each step also caps how many contacts you can store. The first three steps hold 500, 1,500 and 2,500 contacts, and from the 20,000-email step up you can store 500,000. MailerLite sells steps of subscribers, and its Comfort plan lets you send ten times your list each month.

I've set Brevo's Standard plan against MailerLite's Comfort because they're the cheapest plan on each side that automates for your whole list. A week works out at 4.33 sends a month, so a weekly newsletter to 1,000 people is about 4,300 emails.

Brevo's Standard plan and MailerLite's Comfort plan, a month, at the list size and sending rhythm shown.

Brevo vs MailerLite, a month

Prices last checked on 29 October 2026
Brevo MailerLite
1,000, weekly or twice $35 $19
2,500, weekly $49 $33
2,500, twice weekly $79 $33
10,000, weekly $97 $89
10,001, weekly $97 $129
10,000, twice weekly $139 $89
25,000, weekly $179 $179
25,001, weekly $179 $229
25,000, twice weekly $249 $179

By our sums, counting a week as 4.33 sends a month. Brevo's price is its step for that many emails, or the larger step that stores the list, which is why 1,000 contacts need the 10,000-email step. Comfort sends up to ten times its subscriber step.

MailerLite costs the same or less for weekly senders up to 10,000 and for twice-weekly senders at every size here. Brevo costs less for weekly senders past 10,000, by $32 at 10,001 and $50 at 25,001.

For a weekly newsletter the line falls right at 10,000. MailerLite is $8 a month cheaper at 10,000, but one subscriber more moves you to its 15,000 step at $129, while Brevo's 50,000-email step still covers your sends at $97. Brevo stays ahead from there, $119 against $129 at 15,000 and $139 against $159 at 20,000, level at $179 each from about 23,000 up to 25,000, and $50 a month cheaper one subscriber later.

Twice a week, Brevo doesn't catch up. Its bill climbs with every send, and MailerLite's Comfort allows ten emails per subscriber a month, so two newsletters a week cost the same as one. Once a month it goes the other way. Brevo's Standard plan is $69 at 10,000 contacts against MailerLite's $89, and $79 at 25,000 against $179.

That rhythm is also where Brevo's own comparison page gets its savings, because it prices both platforms at one email a month. That's a fair comparison for someone who emails once a month. For anyone who writes every week it understates what Brevo costs.

The free plans, and Brevo's cheaper Starter plan

The two free plans suit different starts. Brevo's stores up to 100,000 contacts but sends 300 emails a day, so a list of 1,000 takes four days to mail once. Its automation covers up to 2,000 contacts, and Brevo's footer stays on your emails. MailerLite's free plan stops at 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, with three automations, one website and one landing page, and its logo stays on too.

So a large list you only write to now and then fits on Brevo's free plan, and a small one starting from nothing gets more from MailerLite's, because the whole list goes out in one send and you get a site with it.

Brevo also has a paid plan below Standard. Starter is $17 a month at 1,000 contacts, $2 under MailerLite's Comfort, and it automates for up to 2,000 contacts. It keeps Brevo's footer unless you pay $12 a month more, and it has no A/B testing or landing page. For a small list that only needs a plain welcome series, it's the cheapest paid plan on either platform at that size.

A registered charity pays less on both: MailerLite takes 30% off its paid plans and Brevo takes 20%, and our nonprofits list sets out who can claim each.

What each plan includes

Brevo's Standard plan covers more channels and MailerLite's Comfort covers more of what a newsletter needs on the web. Once the price is settled, this is the table that tells you whether you'd be paying for a second tool on top.

Brevo's WhatsApp campaigns start on its Professional plan, from $499 a month, and its Standard plan takes two extra seats at most. MailerLite's transactional email is MailerSend, its sister product, which has a free plan of 500 emails a month and is billed separately after that.

Brevo adds transactional email, SMS and a CRM to the same account. MailerLite adds sites, paid newsletters and digital products, with three seats to Brevo's one.

Most rows go one way or the other, so the two sections below take each side on its own terms, starting with the channels Brevo puts in one place.

Brevo is stronger when email is one channel of several

Brevo's strength is that the newsletter is only one of the things it sends. Every Brevo plan, Free included, sends transactional email through its API and SMTP relay, so password resets, order confirmations and receipts leave from the same account as your campaigns, with the same contacts behind them. Those count towards your monthly email volume, which Brevo labels campaigns and transactional together.

SMS campaigns come with every plan too, paid for with credits priced by the country you're texting, and Brevo also sends transactional SMS through its API. WhatsApp campaigns are the exception, because they start on Professional, which begins at 150,000 emails a month for $499.

Then there's the sales side. Brevo's Sales Free package adds a sales CRM for one seat at no cost, and Sales Essentials is $31 a month. MailerLite has no CRM on its price list, and its transactional email lives in MailerSend, a separate account with its own bill. So if a shop's receipts, its text reminders and its newsletter should all come from one login, Brevo is the one built for that.

If that's how your business runs, start on Brevo's Standard plan. It's $97 a month at 10,000 contacts sent to weekly, the free plan covers you while you send fewer than 300 emails a day, and Brevo takes 10% off if you pay for the year.

Brevo's own yearly price10% off when you pay for a year of Starter, Standard or ProfessionalShown on brevo.com on 29 Oct 2026.

My recommendations on Brevo's plans

Starting out? Start on Standard if every new contact should get a welcome series. At 10,000 contacts you're past Starter's 2,000-contact automation limit, and Standard drops Brevo's footer.

Growing or switching? Move to Professional, from $499 a month, when you want WhatsApp campaigns, popups or a team of up to 10.

Next to MailerLite's Comfort? At 10,000 sent to weekly, Comfort is $8 a month cheaper and adds 10 sites and paid newsletters, but sends transactional email through a separate MailerSend account. One subscriber past 10,000, Comfort costs $32 more than Standard.

Every plan includes email and transactional sending, the drag-and-drop editor, templates and forms.

MailerLite is stronger when the newsletter needs a home

MailerLite treats the newsletter as the centre of a small business on the web. Comfort gives you 10 sites and landing pages between them, against one landing page on Brevo's Standard plan, so the signup page and a simple site for the business can both live where the list lives.

It also sells. Comfort and Power take paid newsletters and recurring subscriptions, which the free plan doesn't, and MailerLite says it keeps no commission on paid subscriptions beyond Stripe's own fees. Digital products and bookings come on every plan, one on Free, five on Comfort and unlimited on Power. Brevo's price list has nothing for selling a subscription or a download.

Comfort runs 50 active automations of up to 100 steps, which is plenty for a welcome series, a lead magnet and a few follow-ups, and three people can log in. Brevo's Standard plan has no cap on automations but one seat, with up to two more at $12 a month each. If you outgrow Comfort's caps, MailerLite's Power plan removes those caps, and the ten-sends-a-subscriber limit, for $129 a month at 10,000 subscribers.

If the newsletter is the centre of it all, start on MailerLite's Comfort plan. It's $33 a month at 2,500 subscribers and $89 at 10,000, your first 250 subscribers are free, and MailerLite takes 10% off if you pay for the year.

Starting out? Start on Comfort. It covers a weekly or twice-weekly newsletter at the same price and brings the sites, paid subscriptions and 50 automations.

Growing or switching? Move to Power, $129 at 10,000, when you send more than ten emails per subscriber a month, need more than 50 automations, or more than three people log in.

Next to Brevo's Standard? Brevo's Standard plan automates without a cap and sends transactional email and SMS from the same account, but it's priced by your sends, $97 weekly and $139 twice weekly at 10,000.

The case for each, in brief

Before the verdict, both sides in two short lists. Most of what one does well turns up as the other's weak spot.

Brevo

What works

  • Costs less for weekly sends past 10,000 contacts
  • Transactional email, SMS and a CRM in one account
  • Free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts

What does not

  • The bill climbs with every extra send
  • One landing page and one seat on Standard
  • Starter automates for 2,000 contacts at most

MailerLite

What works

  • Costs the same or less to 10,000, less twice weekly
  • 10 sites and landing pages on Comfort
  • Paid newsletters and digital products built in

What does not

  • Free plan stops at 250 subscribers
  • Transactional email means a separate MailerSend account
  • Comfort sends ten times your list a month at most

So which one should you pick?

Both keep their promises. Brevo really does put every channel in one account, with transactional email, SMS and a CRM on plans that start free, and MailerLite really is a complete home for a newsletter, with the site, the landing pages and the paid subscriptions on its Comfort plan. Neither is a poor buy at what it sets out to do.

Take Brevo if you send weekly or less to more than 10,000 contacts, or if receipts, SMS or a sales CRM should live in the same account as your newsletter. Its free plan is also the place to start if you have a big list you mail now and then.

MailerLite is the better pick if your list is under 10,000, if you send twice a week or more at any size, or if your newsletter needs its own site, a signup page or readers who pay for it. And if you want MailerLite for the newsletter but also send a few hundred receipts a month, MailerSend's free plan covers 500 transactional emails beside it.

Still between the two? The three questions below ask how often you send, how big your list is and what else it has to do, because those three decide it, and you'll get one name with the reason behind it.

Three questions

Brevo or MailerLite?

Answer for your list as it is today, and the recommendation updates as you go.

MailerLite for smaller lists, Brevo for bigger ones mailed weekly

For a weekly newsletter MailerLite's Comfort plan costs less up to 10,000 contacts and Brevo's Standard plan costs less past that. Brevo also sends transactional email and SMS, and MailerLite builds sites and takes paid subscriptions.

The trade-off: Mail twice a week and Comfort is the cheaper plan at every size I priced. Mail once a month and Brevo costs less from about 8,000 contacts.

Questions people ask about Brevo and MailerLite

Do transactional emails count towards Brevo's monthly volume?

Yes. Brevo's monthly email volume covers campaigns and transactional emails together, so receipts, password resets and welcome emails all draw on the same step.

A shop that sends a weekly newsletter to 10,000 contacts, about 43,000 emails, has room for 6,000 or so more on the 50,000-email step before moving up.

Do Brevo and MailerLite have free trials?

Brevo opens every account on its free plan, which sends 300 emails a day once Brevo approves the account for sending.

MailerLite gives 14 days of every feature with no credit card, before its free plan's limits of 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month apply.

Do Brevo and MailerLite give nonprofits a discount?

Both do. MailerLite takes 30% off any paid plan for a nonprofit with proof of status, in place of the 10% yearly saving, and Brevo takes 20% off its paid plans with proof of registration.

I've priced both against other platforms in [email marketing software for nonprofits](/email-marketing/best-email-marketing-software-for-nonprofits).

3 more questions

Where do Brevo and MailerLite store my data?

Both say in the European Union.

Brevo says its servers are in the EU and that it holds ISO 27001:2022 certification, with GDPR tools on every plan. MailerLite says its data storage centre is in the EU and ISO 27001 certified, and its terms include a data processing agreement. On data location, neither has the edge.

Can I move my list from MailerLite to Brevo, or back?

Yes, as a file.

Export your subscribers as a CSV from one and import them into the other. MailerLite's importer takes CSV or TXT files, a list pasted from a spreadsheet or the API, and removes duplicates as it goes. Brevo's comparison page says it can sync MailerLite contacts into Brevo in real time. The file carries contacts, so plan to rebuild automations, forms and templates on the new platform.

Is Brevo cheaper than MailerLite?

It depends on how often you send.

On the plans with automation, MailerLite's Comfort costs the same or less for a weekly newsletter up to 10,000 contacts, $89 against $97 for Brevo's Standard at 10,000, and costs less at every list size I priced if you send twice a week. Brevo's Standard costs less for weekly senders from 10,001 contacts ($97 against $129 at 10,001), and for monthly senders from about 8,000. Prices billed monthly in US dollars, as of 29 October 2026.
