How we test
What we buy, what we measure, and what we will not claim.
We buy the hardware. Not a loan unit, not a demo — a machine bought at the public price, on a real merchant account, taking real payments.
We rank on one-year cost, not on the sticker. A machine that is R700 cheaper and 0.35% dearer costs you more before the first year is out, at the turnover most of our readers run.
We publish the date every rate was verified, and against what: a provider's own published page, a signed quote, or a settlement statement. Where the source is a quote rather than a public page, we say so, because you may not be quoted the same.
What we will not do: claim a test we did not run, publish a rate we could not source, or name a single overall winner on a page where more than one brand pays us.
