EcoFlow Review South Africa (2026): What to Buy, Where
EcoFlow in South Africa: the local company, the warranty by model, refurbished units, return costs, and which power station to buy at which store.
When you spend R16 000 on a battery, who fixes it in year three matters as much as how many watt-hours it holds. That is where EcoFlow earns its place in South Africa, and where most of its competitors here go quiet.
I have not run these units for months, so this review does not pretend to. What I did do was read EcoFlow's South African warranty, delivery and return policies line by line, and price every current model at EcoFlow and at the other stores that sell it. Two things surprised me: the warranty depends heavily on which generation you buy, and a refurbished EcoFlow can cost more than a new one bought elsewhere.
The short verdict
The model I would point most homes to is the DELTA 3 Plus. The scores below are on what EcoFlow publishes and what each store charges, not on a bench test.

Who EcoFlow is in South Africa
EcoFlow does not sell here through a distributor. Its South African store is run by ECOFLOW SOUTH AFRICA (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in 2022 with its address in Johannesburg, and it ships from its own warehouse in the country.
You can walk in and see the units. There is a showroom in Century City in Cape Town, open every day from 09:00 to 21:00, and one at Fourways Crossing in Johannesburg, open seven days with shorter weekend hours. Support runs on a toll-free line, 080 088 0002, on weekdays from 08:30 to 17:00, and by email.
That matters more than it sounds. The other big names are harder to reach: Bluetti's own South African store was locked behind a password when I checked, and Jackery is sold here by a distributor that does not name its company on its site.
The warranty, read properly
"Five-year warranty" is on most EcoFlow pages, but the warranty is set per generation, and EcoFlow's own policy table shows how much it varies.

The two families EcoFlow sells most of carry five years. The newest DELTA 3 models only reach five if you register them.

One line in the policy matters more than the table. EcoFlow does not offer a global warranty: service is done at its own repair centres, and a unit bought for another region is repaired at extra cost, with the customs charges on you. So if a marketplace listing is cheaper, check that it is the South African version with a South African plug, and keep the proof of purchase.
A refurbished EcoFlow can cost more than a new one
EcoFlow's own refurbished DELTA 2 was R14 099. On the same day a new DELTA 2, sold by EcoFlow's store on Takealot, was R13 299 for a slower delivery. Refurbished units are also final sale unless a manufacturing fault shows up within 30 days. Check the new price everywhere before you buy refurbished.
Delivery and returns
EcoFlow processes orders in one to three business days and delivers with Buffalo. It quotes one to three business days to Johannesburg and Pretoria and four to seven to Cape Town, with no weekend or public-holiday deliveries.
Returns are where it costs you. You can return an unused unit in its packaging within 30 days, but you pay the return courier, from R140 for a RIVER 2 up to R550 for a DELTA Pro or DELTA 3 Ultra Plus, plus a 4% fee if you paid by card. Cancelling within 24 hours of ordering is free; after that the 4% applies. So size it properly before you order, and our sizing guide works it out from your own appliance labels.
Which EcoFlow to buy, and where it is cheapest
Three models cover most homes. Each box below shows every store I found it at, and in two of the three, EcoFlow's own site was not the cheapest.

For the router and lights on a budget, the RIVER 2 Max. It is 512Wh on cells rated for 3 000 cycles with a five-year warranty, and it is R5 099 at Takealot from a marketplace seller, R5 309.95 at Sustainable.co.za and R5 999 at EcoFlow.

For most homes, the DELTA 3 Plus. It adds the fridge, with a 3 600W surge for the compressor starting, and its under-10 ms switchover keeps the router from restarting. It was sold out on EcoFlow's site and in stock at R16 999 at Takealot, sold by EcoFlow's own store there.

Best for: a household that needs the freezer covered too, and wants EcoFlow's local support rather than the lowest price for 2kWh. If price is the deciding question, read the next section first.
Where EcoFlow stops fitting
If the most battery for your money is the whole question, EcoFlow is not the answer. The DELTA 3 Plus works out at R16.60 a watt-hour. Gizzu's Hero Pro stores 2 048Wh with a 10 ms switchover for R17 999 at Takealot, R8.79 a watt-hour, and its Hero Ultra Plus reaches R7.42. What you give up is the warranty: Gizzu states 24 months.
Three smaller things are worth knowing too. The DELTA 2's page gives no switchover time, so it is the wrong EcoFlow for a router that must stay on. The RIVER 3 carries 24 months of warranty rather than five. And the DELTA Pro 3 in stock on EcoFlow's site was the European-plug version at R57 999; the South African-plug listing was a corporate purchase and out of stock.

The verdict: who should buy EcoFlow
EcoFlow is the power station brand I would buy if I wanted someone local to answer the phone in year three. Its RIVER 2 and DELTA 2 families carry five years of warranty, it has showrooms you can walk into, and its range lets you size up without changing brands.
Buy it from whichever store is cheapest on the day, as long as the listing is the South African version. Register it in the app when it arrives, and keep the proof of purchase, because EcoFlow's warranty only works at its own repair centres.
