5 Best Email Marketing Tools for WooCommerce (2026)

Five email platforms for a South African WooCommerce store, priced at 1 000 to 5 000 contacts, with which plan sends abandoned-cart emails.

You'll notice that some of the companies here charge in US dollars, so we've added a rand estimate next to every dollar price in this article, at R16.66 to the dollar on 4 Oct 2026. Your bank converts on the day it charges you and may add a fee.Choose how you read the prices

If you are in South Africa, I ranked five email marketing platforms that connect to WooCommerce on the price of a plan that sends both a newsletter and abandoned-cart emails. The prices are in US dollars, with the rand estimate beside each one, so you can get a sense of what they cost at 1 000, 2 500 and 5 000 contacts.

I kept it to five that connect to WooCommerce and send abandoned-cart emails on a plan a small store can afford. That is my read of the market today, not a permanent verdict: when a better deal appears, it goes in, and I will say what changed.

MailerLite is the cheapest at every size. Klaviyo costs up to twice as much, and the sections below say what that buys.

1. MailerLite - cart emails on every plan, for the least

MailerLite puts abandoned-cart and abandoned-checkout workflows on every plan, the free one included. Connect your WooCommerce store, switch on the cart workflow, and the email goes out when a shopper leaves. On the free plan you get three automations for up to 250 subscribers, which is enough to test whether cart emails bring sales back before you pay anything.

When the list grows past 250, MailerLite's Comfort plan is $19R317 a month at 1 000 subscribers, with 50 automations and 10 000 emails a month.

Starting out? Start on Comfort. Abandoned-cart and abandoned-checkout workflows come on every MailerLite plan, so you pay only for list size: $19R317 a month at 1 000 subscribers.

Growing or switching? Move to Power when you email your customers daily or several people run the store's email.

Next to Omnisend? Omnisend is built around store email and costs a dollar a month more at 1 000 contacts. Pick it if you want SMS from the same account later.

Every plan includes email campaigns, automations, signup forms and 100+ integrations.

2. Omnisend - built for stores, from the free plan up

Omnisend does nothing but store email, and its free plan includes every feature of its paid plans. Abandoned cart, browse abandonment, order follow-ups and product recommendations are all there from the start; the free plan is limited to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. 3. Klaviyo - the deepest store data, at the highest price

Klaviyo is the platform bigger stores grow into. It reads your store's orders and browsing into every customer profile, so you can segment by what people bought and when, and its free plan includes flows for up to 250 active profiles. It is also the most expensive here at every size: $30R500 a month at 1 000 active profiles and $100R1 666 at 5 000.

All three so far talk to your customers by email only. The next pick is for a store whose customers also expect a text when an order ships.

4. Brevo - order emails and SMS from one account

Brevo is the one to choose if your store needs order emails and SMS as well as marketing. It sends the automatic emails a shop sends, such as order confirmations, alongside campaigns, and SMS to South African numbers at about $0.11R1.83 a message. Multi-step automation, which a cart series needs, starts on Brevo's Standard plan at $35R583 a month for 1 500 contacts.

Use it if your store already sends order updates by SMS, or wants to, and you would rather have one account and one bill. Our Brevo review prices it at three sending patterns.

Every platform so far bills you in dollars, so each one costs a little more in any month the rand slips, and your card statement never quite matches the price you signed up at. The last platform on this list is the one that sends South Africans a rand bill, and for a store that plans its costs to the rand, that is worth paying for.

5. Mailchimp - priced in Rands, with its own WooCommerce plugin

Mailchimp connects through its own Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin and bills South Africans in rands. Its Standard plan is R690 a month for up to 1 500 contacts; the cheaper Essentials plan, R410, limits automated flows to four steps, which is tight for a cart series with more than one reminder.

Growing or switching? Move to Premium only when a team needs unlimited seats and phone support.

Reading the revenue dashboard

These platforms report a figure for the revenue your emails made, and that figure counts a sale as email revenue if the buyer opened or clicked an email within a set time before buying. Some of those customers were coming back anyway, so the figure always runs high.

The number to watch is simpler: how many abandoned carts turned into orders after the cart email, against how many were abandoned. That is the sale the email actually saved.

So which one should your store use?

All five send the email that brings a cart back. What differs is how much store data each reads and what you pay for it.

Bringing the five together: take MailerLite if you want cart emails and a newsletter for the least, which suits most WooCommerce stores. Take Omnisend if you want store emails set up for you and your list is around 1 000. Take Klaviyo once you have thousands of customers to segment by what they bought. Take Brevo for order emails and SMS in one account, and Mailchimp for a rand bill.
